Headers

The header is one of the most important areas of your website.  It is what we call “the prime real estate” because it is the first thing your visitors see when they load your page.  The header needs to create immediate interest, tell visitors what they get from being on your page, and show who you are and what you do.

These messages may be subliminal (in the atmosphere created by your header graphic), and/or they may be in the form of text.

I make all kinds of headers, but let’s talk about headers on CagoraBiz.

The CagoraBiz header area is 960×120px and like the rest of your CagoraBiz site, it’s customizable.  You have 3 options for what you can do with it:

• You can leave it white or make it a color to suit the template you have chosen and use the Dynamic Header Text for the words on your header – a main title and a subtitle.
• You can use a custom-made header background image, created to suit your site template and your business, and still use the Dynamic Header Text for the words on your header.  The design of this image will need to take into account the search box and links on the extreme right of the header space.
• You can use a custom-made header image that incorporates in the image the words you want to have showing in your header.  That’s what I did for the header I made for this site.
